when I saw lower number for a couple days I fooled my self into thinking perhaps we had turned a corner. I knew we hadn't but I hoped.

(6,477 posts)Absolutely grim. New York and New jersey back to peak numbers, while deaths tick up elsewhere. Pennsylvania looks particularly newly bad. California ticking up now. Numerous states saw 10% of their total dead YESTERDAY.
A fucking nightmare unfolding.

(65,097 posts)...the high looks like it's around where it is so far today.
The y axis is in 500s so it's hard to detail the exact figure but it appears 2,700-2,800 was the prior high.
4 or 5 days ago.

(1,822 posts)New York is coming down but 5 or 6 states are now over 100 deaths per day. Even here in Indiana we had 70 today. Normally its been around 40-50.

(588 posts)So it could be due to a reporting issue that leads to an artificial "catchup" after under-reporting dips on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

(35,323 posts)People seem to have the impression that the deaths have to happen on the day they're reported.
There's usually a dip before them, too.
