More testing --> more cases in absolute terms. However, the percentage of positive tests is moving in the right direction.

dipping and peaking between 26,084 and 38,958.

They have been doing lots of adjusting because of the new definition- so this may well be adjusted down (and earlier number adjusted up)

The day the cases are reported, they show up as new cases for the day. Then, as they sort out which were new diagnoses of old cases (becaue of the change in reporting 4/14) the numbers are moved back to the actual date (usually of the death). I adjusted my numbers today, and had to adjust all the way back to the first week in March - and the February case they have now tied to COVID 19 has not yet shown up on the propert date.

Imagine being a parent with 3 kids whose not essential and doing the home-learning thing. Then Saturday you find out you're back at work Monday at 8 am.

Or the boss with a business that employs 120 workers. You find out Saturday that you're supposed to start up again Monday--but if half you workforce won't show up, you have no reason to open. You have two days to contact 120 people, sort out how to schedule things, rearrange things, and decide if it's workable.

I don't have either of those problems, and have a notable lack of empathy, but have no trouble imagining the hell keeping it secret would make many people's lives.
