If we get the senate, I am pretty sure Biden will be the president elect.

3. You'd need 67 votes to make it worthwhile.

Otherwise, he would be acquitted again. And as others said, if we take the Senate, even narrowly, Biden will be President.

With control of the Senate we can block every appointee if Trump were to win (unthinkable). With control of the Senate we can appoint every nominee President Biden makes. A GOP Senate with a President Biden will block everyone friendly to us.

Besides, if we REALLY need to, couldn’t a Democratic majority in the Senate change filibuster rules?

Although I was responding to the OP calling for a new article of impeachment. Absent 67 votes to acquit, impeachment will result in another acquittal.

It’s what gives the GOP so much discipline to vote in lock step for people as low as Trump. It’s about judges. We must have the judges.
