Question: for those that got their direct deposit and used the online tool

ok the situation -

- married filing jointly
- for the 1st week we kept getting the 'I don't know you can't determine status' message. Had filed 2018 (no refund)
- filed 2019 (refund. Yay!) on Thursday
- on Friday it recognized both of us, but on both said "need more information" (ie bank deposit numbers)
- we ARE getting a refund and DID put that in when filing.

So the question(s) -

- give it a couple days to actually process the return, and see the bank info?
- go ahead and enter the info but then the bigger question

-- the filing was in wife's name, I was the +1
-- the bank account it in her name
-- we both turned up when we filed (jointly)

--- will just her entering the bank routing stuff be enough
--- do I have to do it to?
--- will the bank account being in her name confuse everythihng???

Finally we showed up in the tool. I had the option to add bank account. Once I did it for one of us, when i tried the other it seems to already know the bank account number so nothing extra had to be entered.
Just did this today, so not saying any $ came yet, just how the site worked for me.

side. Maybe they do not have 2019 entered yet so they do not have the information.

My 2018 was to a bank that I have closed recently. I filed 2019 April 2 and it does not appear they have that information. It is a new address too. It says can't find me.

If you are at the point they are asking fro information, You are a lucky one, I think.

apparently they have stopped processing PAPER returns for a while, the e-file just zoomed thru I think that;s why we showed up in the system the next day.

the info I entered was "successfully submitted and payment will be directly deposited in your bank account." To be sure I was included in his payment info, I went back to the "get my payment page" and filled in my name and - my birth date popped up without any further questions. There was a message that said - "you are eligible for the payment. Once we have your payment date we will update this page. We will deposit your payment in the bank account below."
Hope that helped. Good luck.
