It's not just about a movie - it's about Pundits, Politicians and Priests.

The movie is just the maguffin.

The reaction to it depends on how the politicians, pundits and priests in the muslim countries *interpret* the movie.

And the same thing goes to the reaction to the protests in America. A big part of the reaction will lie at the feet of the equivalent pundits, politicians and pastors.

Even the Mohammed cartoons had a picture of him with a bomb in his turban.

There are in fact some images of Mohammed actually made by muslims so it's not something totally unknown in the culture.

It's very clear that the cartoons and the movie are intended to insult the religion in the same way that Nazi caricatures of Jews were intended to dehumanize them.
