The media, which seemed to be turning away from Mitch Rmoney now seems to be reversing . . . . .

I watched a few minutes of my local news and the CBS morning show today and then got to working and haven't been back to news or the internets until right now.

This morning, it sounded to me as if the media were looking for ways to show that Mitch wasn't really off base in his remarks, and how he is now being seen "by conservatives" as being tough and strong and aggressive and how much they (conservatives) like that. There was no one story that said this. Just that it was the tone of them all, collectively.

The message I heard this morning was very clear. Is that what anyone else is hearing?

The story was buried and it was a "he-said and then he-said" story about "both sides'" political posturing.

Romney's been having a hard time lately, so they now feel a need to help him out somehow.

Romney.. i.e., Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, Hannity, etc. The mainstream GOP are still running like crazy from his remarks.

A murder committed by a Republican must not receive more coverage than a jaywalking by a Democrat, and can never be discussed without giving equal time to the jaywalking committed by the Democrat.

To me, the real mystery is why they reacted the way they did originally.

spent the next day or 2 trying to make that empty chair debacle look like it was perfectly acceptable too and the media did it's best to provide cover and reasonable explanations. It was total fail.

Now, they're doing the same thing with this God awful attack and it's real lowdown, sleazy stuff.

They've been doing it to lesser degree since Mitt Romney won the primary and it's been occurring more frequently and in greater intensity since then.

Something is going to break and it's going to be really, really bad.

Doesn't it feel like the Romney campaign is spinning and screwing up so badly that it's just going to come apart at the seams?

There was an OP this morning where a DUer asked Who's running the Romney campaign and OP's answer was: Mitt is.

He just can't keep ('xuse the term) fucking up so badly that the media has to constantly play catch up to cover it, it's getting really beyond bizarre and now, he seems to be interfering with our foreign policy and relations, playing a game called POTUS.

His hypocrisy, the lies, the narcissism and huge ego, the smugness and he's just so sure that he will get whatever he wants and if it's not given freely well, he'll just buy it.

I know I'm not thinking with logic or concrete evidence, you don't have to tell me. It's just something in my primitive brain that he's self destructing and we're all witnesses and he's not finished taking himself out yet but he's well on the way.

I just hope he doesn't take us all with him in the process.

I've seen this pattern time after time.
