Sarah Palin Tells Obama to Grow Big Stick Thanks Sarah!
by fidlerten
I do not know where Sarah Palin has been in the last three years but if she does not think this president has a "big stick" when it comes to foreign policy -- she is entirely wrong. Has she forgotten; this president gave the order to go get Osama bin Laden, knowing very well that if the mission failed, he would take a serious political hit for it.
After the recent Libya tragedy, where two U.S. embassy staff had been killed, Sarah Palin had criticism for President Obama's remarks and handling of the crisis. She wrote in a Facebook post this remark:
"We already know that President Obama likes to 'speak softly' to our enemies. If he doesnt have a 'big stick' to carry, maybe its time for him to grow one."
Maybe she should ask all of those dead Al Qaeda operatives if they think our president carries a "big stick". She should make sure to ask Osama bin Laden how he feels about President Obama too. Oh, that's right; she can't because they're all dead.
For me, her comment made me think about that quote from Theodore Roosevelt from which she was referring:
"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."
President Obama to me fulfills that piece of advice from one of our greatest presidents, Teddy Roosevelt. When it comes to foreign policy, Obama knows how to "speak softly" and he most assuredly carries a very "big stick". I also believe he "will go far".
Therefore, I want to thank Governor Palin for comparing the quote with Obama. I hope that some of my fellow Americans will also be reminded and do some comparing on their own. I would have never thought of it if it had not been for Sarah, so thanks Sarah, because Obama needs all the help he can get.

Al-Qaeda Gave Up Osama Bin Laden To Help Obama Get Reelected, Limbaugh Claims | Its a tall order for Rush Limbaugh to outdo himself, but he may have accomplished that during his radio broadcast Wednesday when he floated the idea that al-Qaeda purposefully allowed American troops to kill Osama bin Laden in order to bolster President Obamas re-election chances. What if Ayman al-Zawahiri gave up Osama bin Laden for the express purpose of making Obama look good? Giving Obama stature, political capital? Limbaugh asked in a segment flagged by Media Matters. He justification was that al-Qaeda wants to keep him in power because doing so furthers the cause.

Comparing Mitt Romney to Sarah Palin
<...>
Mitt Romney had to act Presidential for a little over 9 minutes.
He failed, and a crap-storm of well-deserved flak for his statements on Libya and Egypt rained down on him. Romney only had to be Presidential for a little over 9 minutes, and, instead, he had had his "Palin Moment." (I would argue that he only had to seem "nominational" at his partisan convention, and that this was the first time he was called upon to act Presidential.) His statement deserved to be attacked because of the lies involved, the political attack without the facts during a time of mourning and alert, and because Romney had inserted himself into a delicate situation in a buffoonish way, not knowing what damage he might do.

This is what the Republicans, from the fringe to the Republican candidate for President, have been reduced to on foreign policy/national security: desperately craven lies and shamelessly idiotic pandering.
'A staggering shift' on the politics of foreign policy
By Steve Benen
If you watched the third and final night of the Democratic convention, it was hard to miss the emphasis on foreign policy, national security, military policy, and international affairs. These issues represented more than a fifth of President Obama's address, and speaker after speaker emphasized Democratic credibility on the subject.
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), in particular, seemed to be having a terrific time going after Mitt Romney's foreign policy ignorance, inexperience, and general confusion.
But in the bigger picture, the Democratic message, especially when compared to what Americans heard in Tampa, reinforced what Fred Kaplan called "a staggering shift": it's Democrats who've become "the dominant foreign-policy party."
More extraordinary still, it was the Democrats who saluted, mourned, and celebrated the "fallen angels" and "wounded warriors" of the U.S. military. Romney observed no such ritual.

The conventions these past two weeks -- and particularly the final speeches Thursday night -- have cemented the fact that the Democratic party is now the party of national-security policy; not just a wise or thoughtful foreign and military policy, but any kind of thinking whatsoever about matters beyond the water's edge. [...]
It was the Democrats who talked Thursday night of their president's "backbone" and "courage," of the clear message he sent -- as Vice President Joe Biden put it when talking about the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound -- that "if you attack innocent Americans, we will follow you to the ends of the world." By contrast, Biden recalled, Republican challenger Mitt Romney once said that it wasn't worth "moving heaven and earth, and spending billions of dollars, just to catch one person."
More extraordinary still, it was the Democrats who saluted, mourned, and celebrated the "fallen angels" and "wounded warriors" of the U.S. military. Romney observed no such ritual.

Oh, good freakin' God:
Hmm. Maybe we should ask Osama bin Laden what he thinks of "cowboy" policies versus "mom jeans" policies. Oh yeah, we can't because he's dead. And it wasn't the "cowboy" policies that killed him.
But here's another question: If President Obama's a "mom jeans policies" wimp, what exactly does that make Mitt Romney?
Another day, another Republican messaging FAIL. Or, in other words, just another day.

Oh, good freakin' God:
CNN contributor --> ; RT @EWErickson: Maybe just me, but I'd prefer GWBush's cowboy foreign policy to Barack Obama's mom jeans foreign policy.
