Kroger is really stepping up!

In this article they said they will be donating 200,000 gallons of milk to food banks. At our local store they are providing curbside delivery for free where some other stores have a fee. They are also accepting EBT at curbside. I have to say I have been impressed with their efforts. I get emails from Costco and Kroger about their efforts to keep people safe.

Wait time for pickup from my local store is less than 24hrs. Only “beef” is that they never seem to be able to find tofu. Pun intended

They're very tough to negotiate with. I'm friends with a local pork producer and they've been at an impasse with them on a new agreement for months.

5. I have a weekly curbside pickup with Fred Meyers (Kroger)

I just immediately set up a new list when I finalize the week’s order and choose the following week (since they’re a week out on curbside pickup). I love that I can change my order in any way up until midnight before the day of pickup.

They’re out of stock on some things and I’m pretty sure sometimes the shopper just doesn’t know what the heck I’m asking for (pretty sure they had spaghetti squash last week but i was told it was unavailable. Kid, it ain’t pasta )

Overall a very good option. I did notice that this week they asked for my birthday when I ordered wine and beer. They didn’t last time, which makes me wonder if they got in a wee bit of trouble on that one.

to eliminate exposure to people. And generally, everything is fresh there.

In fact, it seems better than usual with the massive turnover in meat and produce due to more people cooking at home.

one English cucumber that was just not ok. Pretty darned yellow and not exactly green. Meh.

Everything else has been perfect. I order organic honeycrisp apples each week and those are pretty pricey. I’ve found an occasional bruise but again, meh. I’m more frustrated that my oldest child has burned through all my fresh fruit in four days I forgot how much food college kids eat!
