She was diagnosed roughly 3 weeks ago. She's had some pretty bad days but has seemed to rebound after each one. She's been sleeping a lot, and not eating very much. She's weak.
She's an 86 year-old woman w/ a heart condition and Alzheimer's Disease.
Anyway, this is the report:
"Mom will be tested again soon (May 11). It seems the course for this disease varies, some people have it for 2 or 3 weeks, perhaps longer. It could be that Mom is over it, but none of us should expect that she will return to her pre-covid condition. This has initiated a decline that is expected to continue even if she beats the virus. It is just not very clear how rapid that decline will be."
Had face-time with her again today. She seemed pretty alert, though tired.
Like Thursday, she pointed me out! "That looks like my youngest." Yup! That's me! She recognized one of my other sisters too. And at one point she said, "that's my family." A good visit, for sure.

The doctor told her she handled this like a 30-year-old. I am still shaking my head over that. I was sure she wouldn't make it through this awful stuff.
I hope your mother continues to do well.
