I.e., if there wasn't a basis for the investigation to begin with?
For that matter, why would any of these assholes have lied so consistently and predictably if they hadn't done anything wrong?

(21,765 posts)Flynn was coerced into signing a confession by rogue FBI agents who threatened to jail his innocent son if Flynn did not plead Guilty.
Rather than put his son through this ordeal, Flynn sacrificed himself.
Now the story is that there was no lie. It's all a Deep State frame up.
Not my version of events. This is what is being claimed on Right Wing media.

(12,310 posts)Sullivan will have to hold a hearing. To show on the record that the case they are trying to make is full of half-truths and out right lies.
We live in an era where a thing no longer needs to be proved in a court of law if the court of public opinion grabs it first.
In the Flynn case there is no jury. Judge Sullivan is the sole arbiter here.
It feels like our whole system of justice is resting on the Judge's shoulders right now.

(82,849 posts)And it's not like Flynn is some backwoods dumbass who didn't know that it was illegal to lie to the FBI. That's why there's that whole "right to remain silent" thing they rattle off to you before questioning. Flynn is a sophisticated, informed, experienced operative in both military and civilian government. Lying to the FBI is knowledge so deep it should go right to his bones. But he did it anyway.
