Trump's Live Reaction to Record Unemployment: Don't Blame Me

It took President Trump 22 minutes into his hour-long phone call with Dumb Fux & Friends on Friday morning to even mention the still-raging coronavirus pandemic that has killed more than 75,000 Americans. But, as news broke that the lockdown caused record 14.7 percent unemployment rolled in while he was live on air, the subject became unavoidable.

His reaction to the news of unprecedented hardship across the nation? Sure, it sucks, but it’s not his fault. “It’s fully expected,” he said when confronted with the alert that 20.5 million jobs had been lost in April, sending the unemployment rate up to 14.7 percent. “It’s no surprise... Even the Democrats are not blaming me for that.”

Despite disowning any blame for the current state of the economy, Trump went on to boast at length about the strength of it before it was decimated by the coronavirus pandemic. “We created the greatest economy in the history of the world,” he said. “We were blowing away China, we were blowing away everybody, we were the envy of the world and then they came in and they explained it and they said ‘Sir, you have to turn it off, we have to close the country.’”

Trump promised: “Those jobs will all be back and they’ll be back very soon and next year we’re going to have a phenomenal year. People are ready to go, we’ve got to get it open, people are ready to go.”

of Americans who have lost their livelihoods and now face an uncertain future that could see them lose everything.

He's incapable of even faking a crocodile tear or a word of pretend sympathy to the record breaking numbers of unemployed citizens, just like he couldn't relate to the tens of thousands of people who have died from Covid 19.

Trump is a psychopath. We haven't seen the worst of him yet.

"Those jobs will all be back." No they won't. A lot of them will never come back because the companies will be gone. The job landscape has changed for good and will never just go back to what it was. trump hasn't got the imagination or thought processes to recognize that, much less deal with it. Sad.

consumer model will look like after this virus winds down. It most certainly won't be the same shopping experience we were accustomed to prior to Covid 19.

Everything will be different because most customers will demand corporations change their business models to accommodate their concerns over more safety
I think the old days of jostling shoulder to shoulder with huge crowds looking for sales is gone forever. And no great loss for me.

At some point Biden is gonna have to call out this BS for what it is. Make the analogy, “this is like the guy that running in a relay race that falls to last place but says ‘but I had us in record time for awhile early in my leg.’” Point out how it was pretty damn good when he went in.

important - is that the Fed opening the vaults to TRILLIONS of dollars to corporate America is going to ensure that the tRUMP campaign and SuperPacs will have UNLIMITED money to spend to stay in power IMO.

He takes no responsibility for anything negative, but claims all the credit for everything positive. You can't have it both ways. It doesn't work that way. God, I hate him so much.
