This coronavirus has shown us that we need to fix our country or we will not have a country...

It has shown us that we have a shortage of doctors and nurses and hospital equipment. There is no reason this problem cannot be fixed. We should not depend on foreign suppliers.

It has shown us that Wall Street has very little to do with Main Street. It is nothing more than an enclave for the wealthy that are first in line for a bailout when the market heads south. They should be forced to pay it back to the people.

The employer-based healthcare system is a total failure during this pandemic. Workers simply cannot afford the insurance provided when they lose their jobs, if there is any at all. It is not a reliable healthcare system. It needs to be fixed.

The food supply chain is too dependent on large corporate farmers, especially cattle and pig farmers and meat-butchering plants. There needs to be more smaller farms that are scattered regionally throughout the country.

Money and handouts cannot save us from ourselves. It is up to us to make the changes needed and that includes our political system. It has failed. It has been exposed, with all its flaws. How can they just pack up and leave?

There are many deficiencies that have been uncovered by this epidemic and one person cannot fix it. It cannot be fixed individually. It must be a government project. It must include all our people.

It will take progressive ideas to help us repair our country, in my opinion.

lead at last to positive outcomes? I'll just grab some popcorn and watch to see... Somehow I see
positive solutions resulting if we elect Democrats and grind the reTHUGS into the dust where they belong. Are we up for it? Maybe you're right and this virus may prove to be the motivation we've been waiting for... Jeez, I'm glad we're both on the same side!

6. It just reminds me if we're living in 1864, I would have voted for McClellan over Lincoln.

The north would have been far better off, especially if it joined the Canadian confederation in 1867.

Before anyone gets their panties in a wad here, McClellan was the Democratic candidate in 1864.

One by one, the issues you show can be worked out by Democrats. Democrats can systematically prioritize and mitigate these problems. It’s right in the wheelhouse.
