215 trillion to save 100,000 lives, at the September 9, 2001 rate.

The U.S. spent 6.4 trillion in reaction to the loss of 2977 lives lost in 9/11:

If we believe a life is worth the same amount to protect now as equivalent to lives lost then, we should be prepared to spend 215 trillion in order to *save* a mere 100,000 lives.

And the health profiteers would still get their cut.

I am not actually suggesting the US really do this, but it give us an indicator of the scale of response the US has taken in the past.

Seems like spending a few trillion in checks to support every US citizen during the pandemic should be a no brain-er.
