(16,937 posts)being one of 100 Senators even from a "powerful" state like California - or THE Attorney General of the United States.
I guess it would come down to:
*Doing whatever is asked by the President to serve your country in the name of duty.
*Doing what you believe would allow you to best serve your country.
*Doing what you believe is the most significant office to help promote your own professional career.
Honestly, I can't see her making a mistake with either choice!

(32,611 posts)Make the laws or manage what is passed off to you? Anyone would rather make them.
Also, no AG has ever gone on to be elected President.

(16,937 posts)As we wonder/worry if "the electorate" will wake up and "do the right thing" - we have concerns about election theft (the RepubliCon mission of voter suppression), voter turn-out, etc. etc.
Try as much as we want, we can't even be sure that we're gonna' get rid of IQ45! My Gawd, we still see polls showing some 40% of the people asked think he's doing an acceptable job!
No, I am not sure that we'll get the Senate. Again, numbers show that doing that would be the most difficult segment to win in 2020.
I want it to happen.
I hope it will happen.
I will work to help make it happen.
But, NO, I'm not sure.

(89,261 posts)as Attorney General she would be limited in speaking out on things .
Senators have more freedom to go out and talk about anything they want to .

(5,106 posts)Harris is a senator. Assuming Robert Kennedy had been the 1968 nominee, he'd been AG before becoming a senator. It's not that simple.
PunkinPi
(4,875 posts)partly because she had/has higher political aspirations. Yes, it was possible with Bobby Kennedy, but the fact remains no former USAG has ever gone on to become president.

(7,917 posts)The usage he applies is a pejorative derivative used by conservative hate mongers like Turd-blossom, Fallwell and Robertson.
OMGWTF
(3,972 posts)It's a pejorative that is meant to focus on the "rat" at the end of the word. The will always be the reThuglican party to me.

(65,136 posts)If we react to "democrat party" they get what they want.
We need to quit taking it personally and just start referring to them as the Republic party.
Don't get mad, get even!
Dems should never lose an election based on ideas. We just need to take control of the debate narrative.
They started it. We finish it!
