I think it was Thursday. Went shopping for my wife. Everybody(!) was masked.
It's a small town, so there were probably a dozen customers and 8 or 10 workers at that time.
But all masks, and distancing was very well done.

I do almost all my grocery shopping online. I wear a mask and gloves when the bags are delivered, as does the delivery person. Mask and gloves stay on until plastic containers (cottage cheese, yogurt, hummus) and glass jars (pickles, pasta sauce) are wiped down.
My son works at Trader Joe's and does some shopping for me. He usually goes home and showers and changes before he comes over with supplies. He wears a mask the entire time he is here.

I miss giving him a hug when he leaves.

Places like Brazil are running about 11% New/Active. That doubles in 7 days.

Based on a one day observation (better would be 3-day running average), Minnesota is 18% (doubling time 4 days). Wisconsin is 9%+. North Carolina is nearly 8%. Mississippi 7%. Texas is a little under 5%. Virginia 4%.

Supermarkets, yeah probably about 75% compliance. But convenience stores/ gas stations about 10%.
My workplace, deemed "essential", masks are voluntary. About 20% compliance. Social distancing? HA!
A LOT of young people must think they are immune.

18. Same experience in my local Whole Foods yesterday!

Most grocery stores have about 50/50. Some less. But when I walked thru Whole Foods everyone had a mask on.

Granted, at the doorfront they wipe carts & have an attendant offering gloves, hand sanitizer & masks.

I was relieved & suprised & actually felt a bit safer being there. I was quite proud of all who cared enough to take the time to protect themselves & others.
Even the dad with his daughter (she was probably 6/7) were both wearing masks. Hers was pink!

Excellent, we need more of this. I live by a park in Portland Oregon and few people are wearing masks. An unmasked runner ran right into my face as I was entering my car. They could have moved to the street but were selfish. I yelled at them. I had a mask on, but still the stream of their air was right in my face. Many many people on the sidewalk here running and walking with no mask, and dogs on the loose. Dogs can get COVID too and spread it! I guess mask wearing is just not “cool” in Portland. I thought people here knew better.

So many coworkers have decided that the virus can't pass through security, so once they're inside they don't need a mask. It's so bad we all just got an e-mail reminding us it's a requirement and anyone caught out-of-compliance gets cited and fined.

I'm cool with that. Idiots in the breakroom have been clustered together, unmasked, baying their fool heads off at each other while playing dominoes and cards. Surprised we're not all dead--especially since for a lot of the guys hand-washing protocol goes like this:

2. BEAT UP THE SOAP DISPENSER OR THEY'LL THINK YOU'RE A GIRL
3. Immediately place hands under running water, washing 95% of completely-wasted soap down drain
4. Rub hands lightly for a few seconds
5. BEAT UP THE TOWEL DISPENSER OR THEY'LL THINK YOU'RE A CUCK
6. Complain that towel dispenser is broken for some reason, go to other dispenser
7. Knock out five yards of paper towel, wipe hands, throw away four and a half yards of dry paper

30. I went to Walmart today to buy a power strip.

On my way out the store a guy standing at the door raised his hand. I thought he was motioning toward me, so I slowed as I approached him. But he looked at something, took it in his hand and clicked it as I passed. I don't know exactly what was happening, but he was taking a count of something. I had on a mask. It wasn't until a while later did I realized that I noticed a person at the opposite exit (near where I entered the store) doing something on the exit of that end of the store.

I had to follow the signs on the floor, and I got my power strip. Of course, I didn't need a toaster, so that's that.

I want to give a shout out to Mesa County, Colorado. Even though a majority are conservative, I am seeing more and more people with masks, rather than fewer! Gloves, also. And even those without masks are being very cooperative at social distancing. Everyone I have met in any store is extremely polite.
