U.S.S. Walmart... eh?

Why not name our warships for the corporations they really protect and serve?

We sell to, and then name stadiums after corporations, so this is not really a new idea at all.

If it wasn't for our Navy protecting the high-seas, Walmart would lose many a boatload of Chinese products. Toyota and KIA might never have made it to America.

This is also a way to lower the defense budget which never paid its own way.

It is a win/win idea. What say you?

2. Not all expenses

Otherwise they would be able to boss our seamen and seawomen.

But we could certainly raise substantial sums of corpo-cash to cover some expenses and relay to the world just why we spend such vast sums of money for 'defense'

They would be motivated to get the name of their battleship in the news and in front of people.

In general, people should just bail on the whole consumer society. Stop buying crap.

You will be happier and the corporations will be less powerful.

4. So?

So they go for publicity, so what? They paid for it, this time upfront.

And then it might well become known that our soldiers actually are paid far less than execs at Walmart. Some soldiers probably even less than cashiers.

just because a ship is named walmart is no great reason to cause harm to one of our ships. They are in danger far and above already.

Come to think of it, you have a point... anytime someone is killed at a Walmart, it does make the news.

USCA

United States of Corporate America

In both cases it seems fitting.

They did it with the Rose, Orange, Sugar, and Cotton Bowls.

To me, it is negative advertising as I don't care to call a stadium or bowl game by a corporate name.

I don't say Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. I just say Fiesta Bowl and I am slightly annoyed to hear the Tostitos added in. It is negative association for me.
