(34,845 posts)...the thinking is that Libya was the result of internal power struggles propagated by groups trying to score points with their followers.
I know it's fashionable to want the U.S. to be at fault but that does not seem to be the case here.
I don't think anyone is mentioning drones except talking heads and posters at DU.

(34,845 posts)But sources tracking militant Islamist groups in eastern Libya say a pro-al Qaeda group responsible for a previous armed assault on the Benghazi consulate is the chief suspect.
They also note that the attack immediately followed a call from al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri for revenge for the death in June of Abu Yahya al-Libi, a senior Libyan member of al Qaeda.
U.S. sources also have said they believed the attack was planned and used the protest as a diversion, though the sources could not say whether the attackers instigated the protest or merely took advantage of it.
I suppose you could say we are 'responsible' by trying to eradicate Al-Qaeda but that's not much of a policy, it's trying to remove an admitted terrorist organization.

Klein appears to be allied with the National American Coptic Assembly, a radical Islamophobic group headed by Morris Sadik. Sadik claims to have discovered the film and began promoting it online. Once it went viral, the trailer was translated into Arabic, sparking outrage in the Middle East, and ultimately, to the deadly attacks. . . .
