Did we have a problem with the Boston Tea Party? Think not, cuz it was all about repression back in the 18th century. White folks were responsible.

(19,985 posts)Sometimes anarchists/hoodlums infiltrate peaceful protests and start looting and doing serious damage. The peaceful protestors can get a bad name that way. I think that happened with the Yellow Vest protests in France and some others in Europe. Also maybe in Seattle.

(1 post)What was the collateral damage of the Boston Tea party? Were there equivalents of Apartment buildings, Walmart, liquor stores, etc.?
Rioting and protest? I'm pretty ok with that. Arson, theft and the other violent acts against people or property that just happen to be in the vicinity doesn't cut it with me.

(4,542 posts)However, it has been determined that "outside forces" started the destruction in Minnesota. The DU sometimes has the equivalent that we watch out for.
