When citizens are being murdered in the streets by the very people that are supposed to be upholding the laws, you really don't have a justice system. What you have is a Banana Republic level of corruption and not a country of laws. Maybe burning down the current system is warranted. Maybe we are too far from justice and law and order to bother with worrying about what a few protesters do at this point. Maybe we are already well beyond the point of giving a damn when we are being murdered with impunity.
I have never been mistreated by a law enforcement officer. But I am aware enough to know that once injustice begins, it won't stop at just the most vulnerable citizens. It will spread to all levels of society. We either stand together against injustice or we go down together at the hands of injustice. It is time for everyone to decide.

(2,520 posts)Revenge of this level is not justified nor should it replace justice, otherwise the US will start looking like the sect tribal warfare that helped put Sadam into power in Iraq years ago.
Gandhi would cry.

(11,885 posts)But says nothing against these cops that murder black people. But his history is one of racist rants , and discrimination. Micheal Cohen and others could now offer up examples of racist remarks and actions he's taken in the past . He learned well from his racist father Fred, and his father was a violent protester attacking the police with KKK members , who after arrested helped bail some of them out of jail. We got a illegitimate president who has screwed up causing over a 100,000 people to lose their lives, and 50-60 million out of work because of him, but he wants others shot.

(7,506 posts)I'm sick of that shit. Colin tried it the right way. He can't get a job because Jerry Jones and NFL are assholes. Peaceful protest is not rewarded. Cities will burn tonight if those cops are not arrested. It is just that simple.

(15,818 posts)Its going to take years to get those stores and restaurants back in business especially after being closed so long prior to this. Im just not sure who it hurts. The police? They will have the city rebuild their police station. I understand being pissed off. The situation with that jerk of a cop is sick. I heard hes living in his home in windimire, Florida (rich area) way far from the city he personally destroyed.

(32,626 posts)and way beyond this incident. It's happening everywhere. I don't know how I would feel if whites were targeted, and killed by black police officers. I don't know what it feels like to be that target, all day, every day, because of my skin color. I do feel the hopelessness, and helplessness, and understand how that lack of power can manifest itself. It's too bad that people look at the action, and not at the cause, or don't have the ability to see what they haven't experienced. Give these people a way to express their anger, a glimpse of hope of a better day, and you won't have looting. Cause and effect.

(22,366 posts)... after seeing armed white men threaten elected government officials in public and get away with it, I am considerably less appalled by it.
