https://www.startribune.com/mayor-orders-weekend-curfew-for-mpls-starting-at-8-tonight/570873142/The cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul are imposing a curfew starting 8 p.m. Friday, their mayors declared Friday.
That Minneapolis curfew will last until 6 a.m. Saturday, and then go into effect again at 8 p.m. Saturday, expiring 6 a.m. Sunday.
"During the curfew, all persons must not travel on any public street or in any public place," according to Mayor Jacob Frey's resolution.
The Minneapolis curfew does not respond to emergency services, law enforcement, people seeking "exempt care" and the homeless.
Violations of the curfew are a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail or a $1,000 fine.
St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter declared a state of local emergency Friday and announced the curfew, as well as inviting everyone to observe an hour of prayer from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

and the curfew, things might start to ease off a little.
We'll know soon enough.

They act like pigs from the 60s. Now they look like storm troopers, then they only had face shields and shields.

(12,385 posts)8. How about Storm Trooper Piggies?
That sounds about right.

on being out there.
I hope it does calm down, I have a bad feeling about this if they do hit the streets.

But I do hope I am wrong.
Question is to where will it spread. Louisville was quite raucous last night.

Can't understand why they haven't done this before.

(3,728 posts)10. Even in the outer suburbs, shopping malls were closed today
due to riot threats. Outer burbs, far away from the chaos. Even Target, which has been open throughout COVID, closed down today.
They are really taking this seriously.
