I just can’t do it for four more years. All the hate, on top of a Pandemic which he will never get us over on top of blatant in your face racism - the depression and anxiety keep threatening to overwhelm.

but I can't listen to the audio. I listened to it once, that's all I could handle. (Hell, I can't even handle that.) This is so painful and I'm so sick of this happening time and time again. This nightmare needs to end!

Kneeling on a suspect's throat for 15 or 30 seconds to calm down a struggling suspect can be understandable. 7 or 9 minutes is way beyond reason.

Then it has become deliberate.

But the police union lawyers will seat an all White or close to all White jury that will somehow find a reason to free him. I thought that the cop in South Carolina that shot a fleeing man in the back after taking a target practice stand would be convicted of murdering the man that he shot, but a jury set him free.

So, I have little faith in juries delivering proper justice when cops kill Black people. So far, all we see is them losing their jobs with the department that they were with when they killed people. The lone exceptions have been the female cop in Dallas, the two Black cops in New Orleans that killed a mentally disabled kid riding in the back of his parents car -the kid was White, and the Somali-immigrant cop in Minnesota that shot and killed a White woman on her poach.

Colin Firth starred in the 2013 movie, The Railway Man, and there's a scene in it where his character cries out for his mother. I could barely watch/listen to it. That is beyond disturbing that a grown man is tortured to that point. Anyone involved in perpetrating an act like that should be removed from society permanently.

From all I have read about him, he was a good man and a mentor to young black men.

I go between outrage and deep despair over this. It makes me feel literally sick to my stomach. I only hope that this can be a turning point for this nation with regard to police violence and the brutality directed toward African Americans and other minorities in this country. This has got to stop.

And until Trump is gone, it won't. Yes, these people will still be racists, but he emboldens them, he encourages them, he legitimizes them and he lets them believe that there will be no ramifications if they act out on their most vile impulses. It is time that we had a government that lets LEOs know that there will be a policy of no tolerance and severe punishment for this racist brutality going forward.
