Trump Refuses Advice to Address Nation
June 1, 2020 at 7:12 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

“President Trump has dismissed advice from his allies urging him to tone down his rhetoric and held back so far on a formal address to the nation as cities across the country faced another night of fiery protests,” NBC News reports.

“Senior adviser and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner is not in favor of a high-profile presidential speech at this time.”

Snip: It took two days of rioting across the country until Joe Biden finally released a statement, published after midnight this morning, to urge for an end to the violence.

Snip: As cities burned night after night and images of violence dominated television coverage, Trump’s advisers discussed the prospect of an Oval Office address in an attempt to ease tensions. The notion was quickly scrapped for lack of policy proposals and the president’s own seeming disinterest in delivering a message of unity.

and they're right. Trump is incapable of making a 'once more into the breach' speech because he has no experience overcoming obstacles. He has juked and jived every time something happened to him and never once in his life actually stood up and faced something.

He's a coward, to be sure. If he did go out there and read a speech in his hostage video persona, it would just make him look like the fucking emotional zombie he is.

It would go like so many of his other "required" speeches: he'd robotically recite what staff members put up on a teleprompter, more than half pouting at feeling coerced into something he doesn't want to do.

And if he decided to wander off-script... hoo-boy.
