Seriously, though, I've thought since my teenage years when I first really understood what this would mean, and what it could do, I've been fully for any reasonable policy approach to making it actually happen. I guess, I was just too naive and unaware of how 'undo-able' and 'impossible' it was, at least that anyone who brought it up seriously was inevitably told. However, as I've never discussed it or pushed it growing up with any friends or acquaintance that wasn't at least mostly likely to agree without needing an explanation, I don't really have any authority on the subject. But here's what's great about this cycle, the most accurate way I think one could describe me on this, is simply as a Democratic Debate viewer. Because it was during the debates, the way policies were actually discussed and considered, that I for the first time believed cynicism might be overcome. That this might actually be achievable in a near future way, not a far off when we get to it after we talk it through some more (we never get seem to get to it that way...).

For so many reasons so innumerable to consider, since then it has become progressively more obvious to me, that not only is now the time but now is the BEST time to make what could be called either a down payment or a security deposit, depending on the perspective and exact methods. Maybe the only time we will get. Interest rates are low. The economy is royally messed up. As ridiculous as it sounds, the combination of the words 'infinite cash' came out of the mouth of a Fed Chair when knew he was being recorded. On some level he may have been aware of what he was leaving to posterity by phrasing things that way. At any rate, after the damage to wealth and means across the country from tapping the brakes on Covid-19's spread dealing what will at least be a double-blow, it makes sense to try to get the best deal for our tax-payer recovery dollars next year.

So why not do the best buy-one-get-one free deal, ever. The same pile of trillions of dollars spent to rebuild the economy, make payouts to impacted families, fortify our healthcare system, and create unprecedented jobs through smart, green, entrepreneurial supporting infrastructure. That same pile of exactly the same dollars being spent, could be the pile of dollars used to support low-income housing, to support minority owned businesses, to support HBC's and scholarships to the other institutions and to the other skills training needed to fight climate change, to rewriting the entire system of public school funding so property taxes and zip codes don't impact outcomes.
The cumulative effect of these steps upon steps and a series of grants with even more ambition towards increasing home ownership and stimulus money to spend to increase economic activity, improved budgets for healthier food and coverage for healthier outcomes; will put factories back churning out cars and widgets and all manner of things, will all stack up to create an unprecedented increase in both health wealth and generational wealth accumulation. It will stack up to dramatically move towards closing the disparities that have existed for far too long. These monies must be strategically targeted where they are most needed first by those with the least.

A compensation fund NOW, not over decade and after constant pressure and filing of claims and dragged feet. To undoing institutional environmental injustice, so no part of our people is so vulnerable to an epidemic or taken from us before they are able to make the full contribution of their ability and creativity to society again. To spreading broadband to where it will never be profitable, just like we have done with postal service (nudge nudge), electricity and the like since before the founding.

To building SOLAR. FREAKING. HIGHWAYS. Speaking of Eisenhower style ambition, whatever his other shortcomings.

And while we're spending several trillion dollars, we should figure out the right way to make Puerto Rico a full, cherished and economically viable part of the country, and start in Congress and State houses now before it is too late, to save the heritage being lost in the Tribal Nations. Every ounce of expanding infrastructure and community support that can be devoted should be devoted to repaying that debt. I have *Cried* the last two years hearing political figures seeking office use the terminology "State, Federal and Tribal government" for the first time in my life in a broadly public and affirmative way, not during a bureaucratic technical meeting reading statutes. I've cried for a lot of other reasons the last two years, but honestly it doesn't take much joy or sadness to set me off lately.

I am certain I have missed a million good ideas here. In any case it is a chance to make a start. Compound interest is intense, and the legislative bill is past due. Waiting another hundred or two hundred years to change something that has not sorted itself out on its own with status quo approaches is not an acceptable policy position to me and I urge candidates to pursue them now and after we win. Because none of this is possible without a strong, strong showing in the Senate. The obstructionism would more likely than not be as intense as the goals set.

The return on investment bears some deep consideration as well. I'm fairly certain anyone whose gotten this far would be a person that sees the gains would proceed far beyond the initial people and communities being invested in. The government dollar - to - economic activity dollars generated could be planned out to be a large lever.

Some other portion may be generalized for all businesses and people, but not much of a significant proportion in my opinion. Likely a separate follow-up bill in short order would make the most since, but I have a fairly high degree of trust Speaker Pelosi and others can balance it with the right support and pressure on Congress.

Thank you for reading, I know I can go on sometimes. Peace

P.S. has anyone ever felt cynics help find the errors in our ambitions so we can try that much harder for a better way so someone will eventually prove them wrong? or is that just me

edited: tragic spellcheck/grammar error, correctly spelled wrong word and an antonym at that.
edited: improved flow of accumulating effects portion. finalized 1.0, replaced heart for cynics from truncated subject line.

but with all the distractions, I managed to leave out a critical thrust of the whole idea. I remember when I was coming up with the general outline about where it goes, but it might take a little wiggling to make it flow. Probably take some time later to get a better phrase or set of phrases to tie it in and think with it for awhile then re-post a fixed up version. Gonna go ahead and edit a straightforward explanation in now, though.

BOGO is a way of encouraging more sales of a product by offering customers another item of the same type, free or for a reduced price. The UK variant stands for " buy one, get one free".

New idea as a gov. policy to me, but sounds interesting.

Would love to hear more from this poster as I'm always open to new and dif. ideas. Might be a back door to trickle up economy, which I find as a wonderful tool against neoliberalism.

as a novel thing I never thought of as a government policy. Might well work out in some form.

Thanks for making me think this morning.

thank you. It's been bouncing around my noggin for at least a few weeks, with the time dilation of of the stay at home, is it Friday, is it Monday, who knows anymore, kinda hard to tell. But math has been weighing on me since February when it came out up to 60% of a population with unmitigated spread was likely to be affected. Somewhere after the scary math, I made myself do math to find something to be hopeful for.

And I figured now was a pretty good time to get it down and share it somewhere. Although, it's all word-problem math not actual equations and figures. The best kind for a large number of people ^_~
