French unemployment rate falls to lowest since before 2008

And the labor force participation rate has stayed steady during the lockdown.

Interestingly, the only category of unemployment claims that have risen are people starting businesses (France lets you collect a year of unemployment while starting a business -- we should do that).

The "economic fallout" of the response to a pandemic are entirely a political decision, not a natural consequence. Never forget that.
