The White House is already a bunker. The president so feared for his safety he had to hide in a
bunker within a bunker.
Anyone who has visited Washington D.C. and seen the White House Knows how much security there is. It’s very telling that the powers in charge recognize that they are helpless against the fury of the American people. They can defend against air attack and terrorists in cars and trucks, snipers too. But not against the wrath of an enraged public.
The current collapse of our society and its alleged norms, the stressors of pandemic, police murdering the citizens it swore to protect and massive unemployment should send the current administration into overdrive in efforts to save our nation. Instead we get a feckless cowardly president threatening to cry havoc and set loose the dogs of war, aka “very vicious dogs”, on its citizens. We get, too, a craven Republican senate groveling before this beasts feet, hoping for cash crumbs as rewards for betraying their oaths of office.
This president may well have to spend the rest of his, hopefully short, presidency in hiding. I wish him no physical harm, nor anyone else, but it puts a bit of a smile on my face to know he feels he has to hide in a bunker within a bunker. Actually it’s more like a grin.
