Just thinking that a white kid, who happens to be the son of a former GOP rep, tagging Trump's club with BLM sounds awfully suspicious. I really want to believe that this kid is doing it because he believes that Black Lives Matter. I really do. I hope that you guys are right and I am wrong.

It really isn't helpful what he is doing and it is good he is caught because BLM probably would have been blamed. The same thing happened earlier.

9. On the other hand, rebelling is not unheard of for sons of right-wingers.

In many cases, they were mistreated psychologically and/or physically - and either develop aversion to right-wing politics on account of what they saw in their abusive parent, or do so to get back at said parent.

It's clichéd, I know - but the world is full of these stories.

Former GOP Rep’s Son Arrested For Spray-Painting ‘BLM’ On Trump Golf Club Sign

The teenage son of a former Republican congressman was arrested late Monday for allegedly tagging a sign at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, with “BLM.”

Thomas Joseph J. Rooney told police he’d done it “because of unequal treatment in the justice system,” local station WPTV first reported, citing Rooney’s arrest report. “BLM” is short for “Black Lives Matter.”

The 18-year-old’s dad, former Rep. Tom Rooney (R-FL), told the station that his son would plead guilty and that he would “pay the price for it.”

“Hopefully he learns a lesson and moves forward in a positive way,” Rooney said.
