You know what will be driving Trump crazy today

He must see these coast to coast marches and memorial services and moments of silence for George Floyd, thousands streaming across the Brooklyn Bridge, marching in LA, Philadelphia, Boston...it's been going on for nine days now, news channels covering it non-stop, and he KNOWS when he croaks there will be no spontaneous outpouring of grief.

He will never admit it but he knows. In fact, he knows there will likely be spontaneous cheering and dancing in the streets.

And it is driving him crazy.

Trump does not seem to have any of that. His "reality" is very distorted. He may feel slights when people criticize him, but he does not internalize the information. Everything to Trump is external. His "enemies" (which would include former allies) are the ones responsible for everything bad.

When I get criticized by one person, I can shrug it off and say that "it is them" based on who and what the criticism is. If a bunch of people are criticizing me, then I need to ask myself, "Did I do something here?" The answer may still be "NO" but I look inward at least for a bit.

Trump never goes there. He can't. His actual sense of self is so fragile that he can't even think about whether he may have made a mistake or not. He has been taught to see that as a strength, but is is a sign of how weak your "ego strength" (to take a Freudian term) is. If Trump was actually confident, he could stand to laugh at himself and admit when he made mistakes.

Comparing him and President Obama. President Obama could and often did laugh at himself because President Obama knew that he held real, personal value to himself and others. Even if he made mistakes, he knew he was "okay". Trump is not able to laugh at himself or acknowledge anything that he thinks is a "weakness" which makes him look like an even bigger failure.

Trump will keep running from reality and will think that everything bad that happened to him, did so because of "others". History will not be kind to Trump.

It is difficult to have any sympathy or empathy for him because he is so destructive to others, but you can see that there is no real joy, or love, or anything that a "normal" (I don't like the word) person experiences.

I have never seen him having a belly laugh, you know, where your eyes scrunch up so tight that they tear. Where you might pee your pants. You know why? Because you are vulnerable then, you don't have complete control of your body and image.

I have seen President Obama do it. I have seen Both Hillary and President Clinton doing it. Trump, never. He can't. His range of emotions is completely stilted.

I have never seen him cry. Seen the above people do it or at leas tear up. Shit I get emotional watching Toy Story with my kids and I grew up in a household where boys were not supposed to cry!

The only thing that Trump has expressed is anger which serves a purpose, but is so corrosive to the human psyche when left to linger. He feels safe with anger because he thinks it is a "strong" emotion, but it isn't. It is an emotion born out of fear and disgust. It is complex, and as I said, when "righteous" like being angry at injustice, it can serve as a fuel for action. But it is toxic and will burn up its host if not put into positive action and then let go. Trump, that is all he has.

It must be hellish to be Trump, but like I said, I cannot feel for him because he is making the rest of us live through his hell too.

He will believe, as insane as it and he is, that he is perceived as God's gift to America until the day he dies. This is who he is. He has no self awareness that is even remotely realistic. He is fucking insane on so many levels yet people are still thinking he may be partially human and have human feelings?!?!? No way! At least in the happy case I survive him.

A stroke like the one Stalin suffered, alone in his room, lying on the floor, soaked in his own urine, unable to speak, would represent some small justice, not enough justice to make up for what he did to those children at the border, but some small justice.

In general, I have come to regard the experience of life as a sacred space, but confess that some lives are so destructive that they cannot be mourned.
