FLIPPABLE: Dan Kessler for MN-HD47B

Dan Kessler has made Chaska his home for 15 years. Dan and his wife, Michelle Love, raised their family in Chaska and their youngest two children attend Eastern Carver County Schools. Dan is a psychologist who works with individuals and families to seek solutions to problems to live healthier, happier lives.

The Kessler family loves all that eastern Carver County has to offer. Dan’s family values hard work and time to play. From hiking and biking to school activities and supporting their community, you can find Dan, Michelle and their kids on local trails, playing at Fireman’s Park or enjoying locally-owned restaurants.

Dan is a member of the Chaska Curling Center. Dan’s team is currently a solidly average group of middle-aged curlers who enjoy the competition of a hard-fought game, as well as a few laughs with opponents after the match. Michelle is a disabled athlete who won the inaugural handcycle division of the Boston Marathon. Their older children Lauren and Ethan graduated from Chaska High School. Lauren is a University of Minnesota graduate who will attend graduate school for public health. A junior at the University of North Dakota, Ethan is studying marketing and environmental science. Their 13-year old son Eli is part of the first cohort of Spanish Immersion students at La Academia in Chaska and their fierce 8-year old daughter Malia is a third grader at Jonathan Elementary, who loves acting and hopes to one day be a teacher.

Dan learned to value hard work and education from his parents. His grandparents came to America seeking a better life. Dan’s parents were the first in their families to attend college. Dan built on their success, earning a master’s degree from George Mason University and a Doctor of Psychology from Florida Tech. Dan’s parents served in numerous volunteer positions in their community and Dan followed in their footsteps. Before moving to Chaska, Dan served on the local boards of Habitat for Humanity and the United Way and volunteered running therapy groups at a local women’s shelter.

Dan has worked in the medical field his entire life and is a cancer survivor who knows from both sides of the exam room the value of quality healthcare. A former small business owner, Dan built a thriving psychology and mediation practice before moving to Chaska. He is currently employed in a primary care medical clinic, working alongside family practice doctors, internists, OB/GYNs and other specialists.

As a psychologist, Dan listens every day to the struggles people face in trying to balance work and family in a conflicted world and works with them to problem solve. With our support, Dan will take his family, work and community involvement experience to St. Paul to represent our families and author legislation that supports our quality of life and builds on that for future generations.

Dan values public service and working to bring people together. He is running for the Minnesota House of Representatives to bring his solution-focused collaboration skills to St. Paul, where decisions are made that directly impact our lives, to give voice to ALL the residents of Chaska, Chanhassen and Victoria.
