One of the very worst was the assumption that World War I would be over in a very short time..The leaders who started it had no idea what the key new weapon, "..the machine gun.." would do in a war. Hundreds of thousands of lives were lost due to that lack of knowledge..
...Forces would advance several hundred yards or a few miles, then would be repulsed back to their original lines..That went on for months..Hundreds of thousands of lives were lost.....
....Here is another stupid assumption..Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union in late 30s and 40s assumed that Hitler would keep his word about a peace deal that he signed with Hitler. As Hitler amassed hundreds of thousands of German Troops in Poland near the Soviet border, Stalin was told by his spies in Poland that war was coming.
It was the only reason for that many German Troops moving east towards the border...
....Stalin assumed that Hitler would never invade and fail to keep his word..That assumption cost the Soviet Union millions of lives..Estimates of 20,000,000 Soviet lives were lost in World War II.
....If Stalin had listened, maybe, only maybe, there could have been preparations to slow down the advance. There were few preparations if any. The German troops made it to the outskirts of Moscow, and according to some historians, the brutal Soviet winter is what really stopped Hitler...Hitler assumed that it would be an easy victory over the Soviet Army..so Hitler was wrong in one of his assumptions.
...Therefore Hitler did not equip his troops with winter clothing and equipment. As the fighting dragged on for many months, the brutal Soviet winter did incredible damage to German troops. The Soviets knew what the
winter was, and they were equipped to fight in winter, while the German's were not equipped....
... That failure on Hitler's part probably saved the world from Hitler's domination. Stupid assumptions killed
millions in World War II..........

..........SO NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO POLITICS, & WAR...GET OUT AND VOTE AS IF YOUR LIFE AND OUR DEMOCRACY DEPENDS ON IT. BECAUSE IT DOES, AND YES, THIS IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF WAR, TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they kept hearing how far ahead of DT Hillary was, they didn't think they needed to go vote, she was going to win anyway. Obviously they were wrong! We need to keep the need to vote up at #1 on everybody's to do list until the voting's over and we've won!

I think people are fired up to vote Trump out.
Nobody wants to experience the pain and horror of election night 2016 again.

The mid-term 2018 voter turnout broke records.
We've got a great nominee who can definitely beat Trump. Now,we just have to turn out in November and vote. Either by mail or in person. Whatever it takes.

who voted for a third party candidate to send a message to "president" Clinton. So yes, you are absolutely correct. I said it 2016, and I'm saying it to everyone who treats the election of Biden as a done deal. It is not.

That he locked up the nomination of his party five months before the election? THAT is not unprecedented. It has happened a zillion times before. As to whether he's a lame duck, we don't know that yet! I hope you're right about that, but a LOT can happen in five months.
