About that possible trump speech on racism

Huh?

Wha?

WTF?

Are they so vile that they don't see the utter pointlessness of such a speech?

We in the reality-based universe know that every word uttered during such a speech would be a lie. His actions throughout his lifetime have demonstrated beyond a doubt that he is racist, sexist, and homophobic. He is a white supremacist and a fully evolved - if that's the right word - fascist. He's a tinpot dictator wannabe.

The only people who might buy it are his base, and even they would probably prefer that he just stfu once in a while.

I mean, who thinks this is a good idea or that it can possibly turn out well?

Others have posted that it's likely to sound like a hostage video. We all know that he will be drugged to the gills, and that the sniffing will double the length of the speech itself. There will be live tweeting and fact checking, and it will be seen that he is - have I said this before? - a lying racist, sexist and homophobic tinpot dictator wannabe. The demonstrations will go on longer and they will get bigger (hey, maybe we should encourage this speech idea?).

You know, the very idea makes me sick.

Why did he even bother calling George Floyd's brother. Who held him to that task.

So thank you for keeping me informed.

2. I won't be watching it.

You know why? The media will allow this bullshit to take over from real reform, real action and they will NOT GIVE JOE BIDEN EQUAL AIR TIME.

Seriously folks - the media will have the full text of the speech available and one can see it online.

Now is the time to NEVER give that son of a bitch good 'ratings'.

For one, I think it’ll be a disaster and he’ll sound ridiculous. It will be compared unfavorably to Obama’s speech on race in 2008 by everyone but Trump sycophant and renowned “both sider” Van Jones. Second, nobody will believe a word of it.

Perfect description. When his handlers make him say stuff he doesn't believe or want to say.

This is not a good idea at all. Which is why he will do it anyway.

Kinda like the hostage Bible walk.

The polls and how his ratings continue to plummet. Goodness! Mercy!

The insults in Twitter and other social media. (Bigly!)

The memes that show up in his Twitter account on the 14th (his birthday).

The ever growing ways we can insult the Russian bots on Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, etc. (Very bigly!)

Still, if I could advise Trump, I'd tell him the nation wants and needs to hear from him. I'd say that only he can speak with authority to the American people.

Most importantly, I'd advise him to kick the speechwriters out of the West Wing and craft the speech himself. After all, no one has better words than Trump.

It would be important to tell him that this way he gets his message to the country without any interference.

(Do you see where I'm going?)

No one has been treated more unfairly than the black people and Me. Only I can fix it because I have been treated horribly also. The Democrat party has had it's knee on my neck, so I know how you feel.

BTW, all points well taken. PJM may have it right. Let him do what he wants. There's no way he comes out looking good, so let him have at it. So many interesting possibilities.

Miller writes the speech and he goes full fascist. Fuck healing. Everyone down on the ground and wait for the cops to come around put their knees on your necks.

He writes the speech - I know, that's a pretty funny image - and god only knows what comes out of his mouth.

The boy wonder and his robot wife write the speech. You know, I just can't imagine what he would say.

So, speculation over. Let's just wait.

relied on sincerity and trust they had built up in the past, to be listened to and believed.

Trump has done none of that. Just the opposite.

But bring on the speech, it may be a trigger for more chaos and cause more baked on Republicans deserting him.

I always wondered how Marie Antoinette's 'tweet' of 'Let them eat cake' when talking about starving peasants, triggered the French Revolution.

Now I know. The right conditions, the wrong words . . . waiting patiently for this 'speech' fiasco to hit the news cycle.
