I stopped by Costco (Nashville) this morning for the first time since early March to refill a prescription. I figured as long as I was there I would pick up a few perishables and check out whatever else might be useful. I was pleasantly surprised to see Red Star baking yeast in 32 oz. blocks for $4.59, and nitrile gloves at $19.99 for 400. They also had gallon jugs of Clorox and other things people have said they were having trouble finding lately. The only thing I wanted but they did not have in stock was Clorox (or their house brand alternative) disinfectant wipes.

(65,076 posts)Most stores limiting purchase to 2 tubes, but there are typically 50-100% full shelves.
Haven't noticed anything else in particularly short supply.

(90,714 posts)...showed them being out of Clorox and Vinegar, but I saw several gallons of Clorox in the cleaning supplies section. They had hand sanitizer in 32 oz bottles, one to a customer, and I picked one up. We have to go back this week and I'll look to see if the hand sanitizer is still available. Will check for nitrile gloves. Still have not seen any containers of Clorox wipes for surfaces, so I've been rationing the ones I do have: for some reason I had several containers already, and numbered them for personal inventory purposes -- all I can think of is it must have been one of those Costco multi-packs from back when.
One item that amused me was a stack of gigantic paper continuous-towel rolls for $49, the kind you would supply a busy public restroom with. I think they must have finally twigged to the fact that while regular home-use paper towels are scarce, the industrial stuff is going begging. I'm sure someone is going to find that useful.

(11,029 posts)Have been the hardest for me to find. Butt wipes are showing back up, but disinfectant wipes - I found one little tube once in the past 3 months.

(15,696 posts)After opening, I put the whole bag inside a ziplock bag, squeeze the air out of it before sealing it inside, and store it in the fridge. I normally replace it every six months, but my last bag has lasted since last Thanksgiving. Just got a new bag yesterday at Safeway.

(11,686 posts)I have been getting paper towels, toilet paper, and Kirkland sanitization wipes because of those hours. I have even been seeing the Huggies baby wipes at those times. In the later hours when everybody can be there you still get run over so they can get that stuff before you or it is all gone. My friend and I still were not able to find chicken thighs or drumsticks this month.
