What virus? I don't see no stinking virus.

It looks like many Americans have pretty much stopped taking the virus seriously. They have a, just deal with it attitude, it is what it is.
I'm not going there. I am going to continue to self quarantine for as long as it takes.

The news media is no longer focusing in on the virus like they should be. The virus is still spreading and many people are still dying. Some states re-opened the wrong way and they are seeing big increases in the number of cases.

Yesterday on the news, they showed a casino that had re-opened in Las Vegas. It was fairly crowded and people were not wearing masks and they were not social distancing. Las Vegas casinos, talk about a super spreader.

The American people may be setting themselves up for a major league ass kicking by this virus come the fall and winter. I will prepare for that just in case.

It’s almost as if the virus never existed. We are pretty much self-quarantining too. We mask up if we have to go into a store. I’ve stockpiled alcohol (70 &99%) to clean with and make hand sanitizer (can’t find Lysol or Clorox wipes) We will visit with friends if there’s only a couple of us and we sit outside 6 ft apart. I did go to protest the other night but I was wearing a mask and took care to maintain my distance. Not being complete hermits but exercising an abundance of caution.

though I suppose a lot of those people saw it more as an inconvenience than a real threat, perhaps a little government overreach. I've finally just decided that there are people who will only do what is right and reasonable if they are forced to. Their self-indulgence will override any commonsense or reason. Their willful ignorance and recklessness just makes me all the more determined to self quarantine.

Meanwhile, I hope no innocent people are hurt by the selfish and willful behavior of these airheads, but I won't shed a tear if the virus makes these idiots very ill or kills them. I'm rarely so cynical, but perhaps we're seeing "survival of the fittest" in real time. AND if they really want to live dangerously, I hope they all make it a point to attend one of Trump's upcoming rallies. I've really had enough of these people.

4. Maddow reported last night that several states are at maximum capacity.

Arizona, Utah, and NC. I don’t know if those states opened early, but it is very unfortunate that they didn’t practice quarantining.

New York should have been a model for us all.

8. NC is not at maxiumum capacity for ICU beds.

The state has the ability to flex up to about 3500 ICU beds from the operational 3200 ICU beds and the Health Director reported 739 hospitalizations yesterday.

However, our numbers are going the wrong direction, but we're not close to max capacity--yet.

I was watching Rachel last night and I do think she said an area in NC was at or close to max capacity--maybe Charlotte? I was only half listening.

We're not even completely open now.

I see masks everywhere, as well as social distancing signs. Not everyone follows these guidelines of course, but that seems to be the case country-wide.

Matter fact, I'm more concerned now than then seeing people are drinking the Trump admin Kool aide and are ... NOT ... concerned about the power grids.

16. There were what I believe some COVID re-opening related issues near me...
Tue Jun 9, 2020, 12:10 PM
Jun 2020

One of them had to do with the power grid.

For the first time in years the electric company had to use the load balancing system. One of the effects of this was the local utility kicked on a system that turns off the residential air conditioner compressors for up to an hour. I'm attributing it to the additional load on the system due to the re-opened businesses using power for their various HVAC and other appliances.

The other is we are again seeing shortages of toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. I'm guessing the newly opened businesses had to restock these items prior to opening. Some may have bought them at the retail markets or possibly the food service companies were diverting retail shipments to the commercial customers.

Still, there are other effects I haven't noticed yet. None of the effects are helping to get the public through the pandemic and are only aggravating the situation in the long term.

There is meat, but there also is a lot of open cooler space where there is nothing. Bread seems stocked now at both places.

They require a mask and they take your temperature before they let you in.

If you have a fever, they tell you that you can come back in 72 hrs. (!!). Can you believe this?!

I heard of another Indian casino that opened in Washington (state) and they had 800 people waiting to go inside.

Unbelievable.

As for me, staying in as much as I can!

and I admit it!!!!

Take care everyone!!!

& recommend!!

Loss of sense of smell is one of the very common identifiers of COVID, so if they really wanted to test to see if you have it, they would wave a scented candle under your nose before you enter.

Is many people have suppressed their other addictions as long as they could.

Alcoholism. Gambling. Drug abuse. Over-eating. Exhibitionism. You name them...

I seriously thought it only took 28 days for a rehab. I guess that only counts if one wants to change.

In the US we never really shut down anyway and the only reason the population was deprived of their vices was the local ordinances prohibiting them from their loves.
