A city as beautiful and diverse as NYC shouldn't have a place of honor set aside for this criminal. Every racial injustice that has been committed throughout this hemisphere over the past 500+ years is part of this egregious individual's lamentable legacy. He set the predatory and genocidal tone for European settlement in the so-called "New World". Time to stop honoring genocide. Time to stop honoring Columbus. BRING DOWN that statue. Rename that public space.
Let's celebrate Italian-American contributions to America and NYC by renaming Columbus Circle after an Italian-American who actually contributed something to America and NYC, Like Fiorello La Guardia. How about it?
