Photos! I went to Seattle's Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone today.

I spent about 45 minutes walking around among a wealth of warm, kind, caring people having conversations about how to improve racial relations, fix the police problem, making art—not a gun, not a threat, it’s Seattle. Lots of bicycles. People with strollers and babies. Music. A hot dog truck! Every damn body wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer.

It was WONDERFUL. It’s not angry. It’s not punitive. They’re trying to respect businesses, most of which were closed due to COVID anyway, but no one is intimidating anyone.

I couldn’t be more proud.

I'm usually mobile so I hold my finger on the image I uploaded and the select "copy" then paste here. I wasn't sure how to explain it otherwise (I'm the WORST teacher! Lol!) but you managed to figure out my horrible lesson!

I adore the chalk art! Thank you so much for sharing.

They were trying out alternate names to chalk in, but CHAZ is now famous.

There were just people and bicycles spread out in the sun, no trash, just a feeling of chilling but with purpose.

It has horses eating each other perhaps to represent mayhem .

I gather that was not happening there !

American progressivism was sustained by anarchists, period. There would be no American left without the work and sacrifice of American anarchism over 100 years.

Get your heads out of your asses.

It doesn’t really look like a situation for tanks and automatic weapons with depleted uranium rounds.
