In interview Trump says Abe Lincoln "did good although it's always questionable... the end result"

Daniel Dale
@ddale8

Trump says he did more "more for the black community than any other president," but will exclude Lincoln "'cause he did good, although it's always questionable, you know..."

Harris Faulkner, who's Black, interjects, "We are free, Mr. President, so he did pretty well."

Trump wasn't clear about what he meant by "it's always questionable" whether Lincoln did good - he added, "You know, in other words, the end result." ??? After Faulkner interjected that "we are free," he repeated, "We are free," then said, "You understand what I mean."

Did he leave that one open for interpretation by his fanatic base? Like a nudge and wink? Get it?

Appointed one black cabinet member and puts one crazy black tweeter on his feed every other day?

In his own mind, 45 believes he is the greatest and most perfect person to ever walk the planet. And in order for him to maintain this delusion, he has to put down other people who, by every objective standard, are actually better than he is.

Like that the plantation owners should have been put into jail and the plantations given to the freed slaves.

I am sure that is what he meant.

Reuniting the country?

Ending slavery?

Ending commercial plantations?

I don't recall a single debate about the benefits of the resolution of the Civil War.
