FLIPPABLE: Regina Lewis-Ward for GA-HD109

Regina is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She grew up with her mother, father, and siblings in public housing. She attended public schools and as a young girl, Regina’s parents taught her the values of hard work, honesty, and that positive change requires personal sacrifice.

He father drove tractor trailers and was a member of the Teamsters Labor Union. She recalls, as a young girl, sitting in the "big rigs" and her dad teaching her how to use his CB radio.

Regina's other childhood memories include taking trips with her mother to the food pantry in New York City Housing authority to pick up block cheese and powdered milk (government surplus food) and traditional southern Christmas dinners with her family and friends. Vacations were to her dad's hometown in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Regina remembers her grandmother's house with a screen door which left Re with a dream to one day have a home with a screen door of her own.

Throughout school, Regina set goals for herself and worked hard to achieve them.

In 2014, Regina joined the City of Stockbridge, GA council and became a committed advocate for families with disabled children. She received public support to use federal funds to upgrade two public parks with adaptable playground equipment and also created the first Stockbridge Citizens Academy to acquaint locals with government operations.

Regina volunteers her time with several community programs and organizations, such as, Get Georgia Reading, the NAACP Advisory Council for Education Excellence, National Women in Agriculture Association, One Henry Economic Alliance, and the League of Women Voters of GA, among others.
In 2008, on behalf of the Metro South Association of Realtors (MSAR) Lewis-Ward successfully petitioned for the first grant from the National Association of Realtors. The grant was used for MSAR Diversity Leadership and in 2013 Regina received the distinguished Spotlight Award for outstanding community contributions.

Regina is an active member of Global Impact Christian Ministries in Stockbridge, and the Henry County Democratic Committee.

After graduation, Regina worked for the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission and served as a shop steward for the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, to protect the rights of its members. She later joined the managerial ranks of New York City Transit and has more than thirty years of leadership and budgetary experience.
She retired from NYC transit, and has lived in Henry County for the past fifteen years. Regina became a small business owner and achieved Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certifications to compete for federal, state, and local contracts. In 2015, she partnered with the U.S. Small Business Administration and hosted seminars on minority contracting for women business owners.

In addition to Regina's business and volunteer interests, she has a passion for writing children's books. In her first book, Jason Keeps a Secret, she unfolds dangers children may face when they talk to strangers on the Internet.

She holds a BBA in computer systems from Bernard M. Baruch College and an MA, in political science, from Clayton State University. Lewis-Ward is a political science adjunct instructor and has two adult children.

ran against him as a Democrat. From what I gathered, she's a fall-away Republican who has a problem with his representing special interests against the people of his district and also thinks he needs to be tossed out.
