Ben Carson Defends Atlanta Police Officer Who Killed Rayshard Brooks on 'Fox News Sunday'

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace opened his interview this weekend with Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson by asking about the “terrible incident” in Atlanta that ended with the fatal police shooting of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks after he was found sleeping in his car.

As Wallace put it, Brooks was “clearly resisting arrest” when he apparently grabbed one of the officer’s Tasers and ran away from them. But, he asked, ”was it appropriate to use deadly force against somebody whose original offense was that he fell asleep in the drive-thru lane at a Wendy’s?”

After suggesting that perhaps he was not knowledgeable enough about this situation and police shootings in general, Carson weighed in anyway.

“I think this is a situation that is not clear cut, you know, like the callous murder that occurred in Minnesota,” Carson said. “And it really requires the heads of people who know what should be done under the circumstances to make judgement.”

“When somebody turns around, points a weapon at him, is he absolutely sure that’s a non-lethal weapon?”

Uh Yes. He was 100% sure as it was a taser just like his.

“You know, this is not a clear-cut circumstance,”

Uh yes it is. Cop used lethal force when it was unjustified. He shot. him. in. the. back.

“Now could it have been handled better?"

Uh yes. Brooks could still be alive and unharmed.

"But we, the public, don’t know.”

Uh Yes we do, Ben - we ALL know. Including you by now, I am sure - or I hope..

And they don't know who he is - let's say with different ID and regular guy clothes.

And he should do this a few times, just to get a good sampling.

He can report back to us on how that goes down.

Then I read this and think how alike the two items are. Fox and the trump campaign, you always know what their interpretation of anything will be.

To remove his head from his rectum. Can't be any harder than separating siamese twins, after all.

then there are some DUers with a more favorable position towards the justification for this murder. So, Carson isn't doing that bad compared to them.
