Coronavirus antibodies may disappear 2 to 3 months after people recover, a new study found

People who develop coronavirus-fighting antibodies might not keep them very long, especially if they didn't have symptoms.

After just a few months, recovered coronavirus patients may rapidly lose antibodies — blood proteins that fight off the virus and can prevent reinfection — according to a study published Thursday in the journal Nature Medicine. The finding raises new questions about the idea of immunity passports and could be cause for concern about the development of an effective vaccine.

That when we get a vaccine we’ll have to get a booster every two months to maintain immunity?

Didn't think about it like that. This could mean our bodies won't readily retain the antibodies produced by a vaccine.

Let's just hope this study isn't true, because if it is Covid-19 might be about 10 times worse than feared and it might be killing people for years and years at a high rate.

McKee tested positive for COVID-19 in February. She was diagnosed after feeling "clear and obvious" symptoms.

She fought the virus from home and beat it. She even donated plasma twice after testing positive for antibodies, thinking she was in the clear.

But this past Friday, McKee went to the hospital with high blood pressure and a headache.

She never imagined -- four months later -- she'd test positive for COVID-19 again.

This is the thing that concerns me the most about this virus.

I wouldn't expect one for this virus either.
