Need some examples of Chinese deception over the years

I wanted examples before the Bolton book of where China had supposedly not been forthcoming about various internal issues there - trying to say that even before the book, Team Trump's strategy of blaming China for lying about coronavirus was a dumb one.

We know that they censor the internet - no Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and others allowed there.
No freedom of speech
They covered up SARS until it became an international problem
We know they lied about how many died at Tienanmen Square in 1989

What other examples?

Thanks

Of the virus for THREE MONTHS and endangered the entire country. China was downplaying it rhetorically on one level then acted seriously as they completely shut down entire regions.

We ARE talking about a country that tried to build a wall to seal itself off from the rest of the world and after that has had periods where it "isolated" itself from interaction with the rest of the world.

China reminds me of a 90 pound weakling who becomes a muscular strongman, but deep inside himself can't fully believe he is powerful and thereby acts defensive when he percieves that someone may call him weak for being open about problems and fears.
