Once you hit print, it will open in Preview. From there, you can export it as a .pdf to wherever you want on your computer without having to actually print it.

(6,926 posts)The link ( assume we are all talking about the link in the tweet in the OP) worked so fast, it took me a few minutes to realize - 570 PAGES! I was going to ask if anyone had just the good parts - but your recommending the index has the same effect.
asiliveandbreathe
(8,203 posts)The page numbers seem to only be useful with an ebook..
A note about the index: The pages referenced in this index refer to the page numbers in the print edition.
Clicking on a page number will take you to the ebook location that corresponds to the beginning
of that page in the print edition.
The index is after Chapter 15 - epilogue...
the pages do not seem to be numbered in this google file, but, the index is helpful depending on what subject you wish to read..scrolling, scrolling..

Between this book posted online, and trump getting punked by a bunch of tweeters/snapchatters for his rally, you'd think republicans would start to do the right thing. But then again, if they were inclined to do the right thing....
THEY WOULDN'T BE REPUBLICANS!!

(33,552 posts)...any different than Trump.
Neither of them give a rat's ass about their country; neither has any interest in anything but himself.
I did see a snippet where Trump declares that "John and I are exactly alike."
In this case, Trump is the broken clock right two times a day.
Both are intellectually limited caricatures of human beings. Both hate America.

He thinks he saved America from the internationalists and the weaklings at NATO. All the other officials were stupid and doing it wrong; Trump was just the stupidest and weirdest. Only Bolton was smart enough to save America (at the time) from the rest of them, but he's still super disappointed that Trump never blew up Iran. The reviews are not good. NYT said: "The book is bloated with self-importance, even though what it mostly recounts is Bolton not being able to accomplish very much. It toggles between two discordant registers: exceedingly tedious and slightly unhinged" and containing "clotted prose, the garbled argument and the sanctimonious defensiveness." https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/17/books/review-room-where-it-happened-john-bolton-memoir.html
He didn't like anybody:
But its Jim Mattis whos Boltons favorite punching bag. Every dozen pages theres another shot at the former secretary of defense. Hes looking for excuses not to do much of anything in retaliating against Syrian chemical weapons use; he would predict gloom and doom when he didnt get his way on policy; he used spite as a common tactic, prompting Bolton to observe they didnt call him Chaos for nothing.
Mattiss resignation in December 2018 appears to have gratified Bolton. He quotes Trumps parting line: Hes leaving . . . I never really liked him. And Trumps bizarre claim: Hes a liberal Democrat, you know that, dont you?...
Bolton is the hero of nearly every anecdote in the book. Indeed, for a memoir that is startlingly candid about many things, Boltons utter lack of self-criticism is one of the books significant shortcomings. Nearly every policy discussion is an opportunity for Bolton to say that he was right, people should have listened to him, he knew it would never work, he was vindicated. His only problem is that, having burned so many bridges with this book, Fox News may not give him a future platform to explain how right he is.

I hope it is published, and most of the copies end up unsold. It would have been better for our country if bolton had testified before Congress or sent his recollections to them instead of a publisher.
