My husband and his large family was from there, and we live in Ohio, just across the Ohio River. In the 1990's Gaston Caperton was governor of WV and was married to Rachel Worby, who conducted the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra and really elevated classical music or awareness of it in WV. I have friends who attend a live music performance every month in Parkersburg, probably on hold for now.

Even though I live well away from major cities, I have never felt isolated from the fine arts in this area.

Attend pro football games.also, that one year, scalped tickets for an Andrew Lloyd Weber Broadway premiere were much more expensive than scalped super bowl tickets.

Because there's about 35 million NFL attendees a year, and if you figure that the average theatre in which you'd produce opera has about 500 seats, you'd need over 70,000 (expensive, labor-intensive) opera productions to equal the NFL.

So I don't think so.

And scalped Superbowl tickets have topped out a $60,000 each, a price I don't think even Hamilton can get close to.

(Not to mention that Webber's work is musical theatre rather than opera, and so an entirely different kettle of fish.)

The silver lining is at least Trump got to upstage Clint Eastwood.
Clint only spoke to one empty chair. (Got that from another poster)

Why can't his fans see that Trump is just a huckster? His schtick is like the robo-calls those same voters probably complain about during dinner.

I recommend "MacBath." If the effects are a problem do it unstaged. It's that well written. It will still work - even better than Shakespeare.

La Traviata can be made or broken by the blend the soprano and the tenor can get going in Act II, and that's a lot harder that you think it is if you've only ever heard A listers singing it.
