Or change the name to Hideko Tojo High School. There's another general who fought the USA and lost...

This guy is on fire, and also THIS GUY IS ON TARGET! This is a magnificent speech! Every sentence was a direct hit, accurately aimed! Thank you, Mr. Chambers! If you had not spoken, the stones beneath your feet would have risen up to say this!

They then said they would come back with a new name at their next meeting.

Afterward the announcement, there was a huge uproar against it by alumni. They still wanted RE Lee. School board came back with the lamest name, (compromise)
Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School.

I honestly think the original was better. I can never remember "Legacy of Education Excellence", so I and just about everyone else still call it "Lee High School".....Couldn't they have found another Lee?

I'm still pissed off about the whole thing. The alumni and some students didn't want to get rid of the Lee name, so they fucked up the name on purpose. They could have given it a nice name. Their decision was based on alumni and students (cheerleaders were the most vocal), not the community. They did not want "outside opinions". A lot of the LEE was to keep records consistent and balony like that.

Can you imagine saying: "I attend Legacy of Educational Excellence High School"...(Sounds like a freaking charter school)

The South revolted against the USA and attacked it. They were anti American traitors and racists. How in the world did so many Americans become OK with honoring them?

And it has continued for too long. Here's a monument erected in 1999 in my area of the country, West Michigan. It's absolutely appalling and racist as hell.
