I tell them that non-compliance spreads the virus...then, I let go....I can't fix stupid...but feel a moral mission to instruct.

I have been wishing that something, I couldn't tell what, maybe a "ray from outerspace", could somehow rid us of people who are willfully ignorant of things that matter in life. A pandemic wasn't quite what I had in mind but it seems to be doing the job. It's ugly but it seems to be the outcome as so many object to simple behavioral adaptations that could save their own lives.

Everyone else. Why do repukes believe their rights trump everyone else’s? No pun intended.

It's all they care about and it runs through everything they care about. They refuse because they're white supremacists and don't want to be told what to do, especially if it might help black people.

It's certainly a tempting response if they're only jeopardizing their own health.

Unfortunately, they're making it far worse for everyone. With a contagious disease involved, their stupid decisions affect everyone.

We'd be able to quash this virus with some cooperation.

Everything is a fight and competition for those people. It's all they seem to know, and their brains can't adapt.

In the process of dying, they are going to stop at Starbucks and infect my daughter. Their wife will be sitting in my class in just a few short weeks an infect dozens of her classmates, and me. Their child is a nursing home where my aunt lives, and will infect her and dozens of her friends.

The people you are hoping will die off do not live in an isolated bubble. They will take the rest of us with them.

So, I won't stop it. The behavior will continue, especially without people like Trump providing an example of mask-wearing.

It is a flaw in our cognitive abilities, I'm afraid. Not everyone behaves rationally.

Once they hit the hospital it’s a shitshow. My unit doesn’t deal with much covid, because we have so many immunosuppressed patients.

But since I am also a dialysis Nurse (as an aside, my hospital prefers to do in house training for dialysis, rather than contract out as most, not all hospitals do)

So when I do deal with it it’s usually one on one in a room for four hours providing dialysis care. Can’t leave, can’t ever answer the phone, we talk through the intercom for needs. I come out puffy and sweaty and hoping all the virus is coming off with my PPE.

Dialysis patients are incredibly high risk.

All of the nurses I know or work with are sick of the Maskholes, the Covidiots, whatever you want to call them. Just so tired of the deliberate stupidity.

We don’t want people to die, we understand when they do, but we don’t like it when we order up a morgue cart from materials management who gets into an argument with EVS on who’s job it is to deliver it. Cleaning the body, we don’t remove anything like foleys or central lines in case of autopsy. Toe tagging it (yes that’s real) Wrapping it in a plastic bag, putting it in another bag, getting it on the cart, covering the cart, and getting it off the unit before other patients get a glimpse.

These....idiots... who think a virus gives two shits about their political opinions need to do a little volunteer work in a long term care facility, where what’s left of a person if they survive total organ shutdown and live, often end up.

Sorry, I’m just tired, and I’m frustrated. How can these fuckers think a mask is some sort of challenge?
