an incredible 37 Football players have tested positive for Covid-19. What the hell are they doing? Its almost as if they don't give a damn. The school ought to shut the damn thing down and start over. They haven't even started formal practice yet

(999 posts)Dabo Sweeney is a born again christian and I cam guarantee you he believes more in the power of god and faith then he does in science. Always remember that the players are on scholarship and he can yank that scholarship. Clemson is a private Christian based school. This experiment will not have a good ending.

(35 posts)Remember, we don't know for certain that there is such a thing as immunity to the virus, let alone herd immunity. (There's anecdotal evidence that there is not.) That is, we don't know if having the disease makes you immune to having it again, or if it does, whether that immunity is permanent or temporary. We don't know if there's a vaccine that will prevent you from having it, and certainly don't know for how long.
If there is no immunity to COVID-19, the human race may be in trouble.

Not conclusive but disconcerting.

(31,261 posts)Since the first infection damages the body for mildly sick people, very sick people that avoid death, even small glassy spots in the lungs of people that are asymptomatic, is it possible that the first infection, if it doesn't kill, sets a marker for a subsequent infection to pick up at? If that is a real possibility and the virus doesn't mutate and weaken, then it could become a killing machine that eventually wipes out human beings. It looks like it may have found the perfect host in us, likely because things in our diet like sugar and some proteins are very useful to it's function, as is lecithin found in egg yokes and soy products.
