We order our groceries online here in Goldsboro, NC from Harris Teeter, pull up to a special lane, push a button and give your name and in a few minutes a store employee comes out with the groceries, loads them in the trunk and then I just drive away, never getting anywhere near anyone. But watching those coming in and out of the store over the past few months I counted that only about 1/3 of the customers were wearing masks. Gov Cooper made masks mandatory yesterday and today I counted 21 of 23 people were wearing masks. I have to think this is going to make a very big difference.

We are hittin about 50% wearing mask in grocery stores and all employees. Higher end grocery stores 80-90%. But out and about not seeing a lot of masks, then again, I really am isolating as in I do not go out and about, unless a store or dentist.

(4,442 posts)in a small town not far from where I live. I counted 16 people in the store and only 4, including me, were wearing a mask. None of the employees were wearing a mask, including the cashier, a woman in her 60's or 70's. That will the first and last time I go into that store.
Masks should be mandatory everywhere.

Personally, having seen how many store employees don't wear their masks properly, as in under the nose, I think that actually going in myself if far safer than having who knows how many other people handle the food items.

(22,692 posts)It's up to the businesses themselves to take action in the form of trespassing complaints. The LEAs are just blowing smoke. If anything it makes them look ignorant. Cooper has received overwhelming support for the mask mandate on social media with more than 3/4s of those responding, thanking and praising him for making this move.
