The couple, personal injury attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey, shouted at marchers who seemed to be just passing through the gated community.
A video recorded by freelance photographer Theo Welling for the Riverfront Times shows Mark, dressed in a pastel pink polo shirt and khakis, brandishing a rifle with an extended clip while Patricia, wearing black-and-white-striped top with capri pants, casually holds a small handgun.
...
At one point, a barefoot Patricia, whose law firm bio says she is a member of the Missouri Bar Association ethical review panel, crosses the lawn and stumbles briefly while she has her gun aimed at protesters. It's not clear if the guns were loaded.

A story on KMOV said the protesters broke down a gate to get in so I'm confused why the rich folks didn't just call the police.
Regardless, there's no excuse for this very uncivil and dangerous reaction to unarmed, peaceful protesters.
This one will be interesting to watch play out.

(5,727 posts)...somewhere in the Twitter thread linked below that shows someone opening the gate to let everyone in. So technically, they're trespassing on private property...of posh-snots who live in great wealth less than a mile away from crushing poverty...but that doesn't justify coming out with guns, that these two buffoons clearly have no idea how to handle.
But you'd never be able to tell that to the goobers in the thread screaming about "defending" property with lethal force from this by-passing, non-violent protest.

I found it odd that the TV station reported they broke down the entry gate. If a resident let them in, perhaps it would not be trespassing. I'm assuming this place was on the way to the mayor's residence.
Still no excuse for going into uncivil mode and breaking out the armory.

Brandishing a firearm and aiming it at people is a crime. If they had been black they'd be dead right now as police would have shot them.
You can't point a gun at people walking by your house, that's a crime.
