I'm finding that hard to believe after what NYC went through in the last couple of months.
If so - how are they going to assure 'social distancing' and will people be required to wear masks?

(32,641 posts)The city will have fireworks during the week (even tonight he said) but the idea is that there will be no advance notice and no crowds will be allowed to form. The city will have impromptu unannounced programs of 5 minutes of fireworks on several waterfront locations around Manhattan. Different times on different nights.
On Saturday night they will broadcast the video of the fireworks on national TV for all to see and enjoy. I believe that's what Macy's is sponsoring - the TV broadcast.

(302 posts)It's not like you may be remembering in the height of the crisis in April and May. People are out and about and wearing masks.
According to Cuomo's nightly email recap, "Total COVID hospitalizations for the state fell to 879, from 891 the day before. Sadly we lost 11 New Yorkers to the virus yesterday. Yesterday, the State conducted 56,710 tests. Only 625 tests, or 1.1%, were positive."
