If Covid-19 deaths were all laid in state in the US Capitol Rotunda

they would completely fill the Rotunda about three times. Obviously this number is not exact.

Assuming the average coffin is 81"x29"x24"=56,376 cubic inches
and
Current death toll of 130,798
then
56,376*130,798=7,373,868,084 cubic inches or 158,047 cubic yards
and
Assuming the Rotunda is 48,000 cubic yards
then
158,047/48,000=3.29 rotundas

I have spent a lot of time in the Rotunda. I am having a hard time picturing 40000 bodies stacked in it. That would be like trying to fit all the fans at a sox game at Fenway in the Rotunda. Even stacked top to bottom end to end, I don't see it
