So Bullock's reputation is really helping him out here, its a possible flip, by no means definite, it will be close.....but the rest of it is GOP through and through.

(89,250 posts)Bullock would have been a strong Presidential Candidate but he needs to work on reaching out to the more diverse base of the party . As Senator he might have a chance to do this .

(86,636 posts)He's been a good Governor and has made gains in spite of an R legislature. And he was AG before that so he has a lot of name recognition and he was born and raised here unlike Daines.
Gianforte might lose his sorry ass for the third time trying for governor. He's up against Bullock's Lt Gov..

(86,636 posts)I suspect he'll be rejected for the third time. He's an asshole and not liked by many so I expect a dirty fight from him, as usual.
Polls don't reveal a lot in this state since most aren't thrilled with being polled.

(15,369 posts)these numbers for Bullock!
But Montanans MUST defeat Gianforte as well! I can't believe that such a worthless thug is even being considered credible.
Would LOVE to see the numbers for Williams increase as well.
What is WRONG with my birth state? The Montana of my youth (early 40s to early 60s) would NEVER have stood for ANYONE even close to Gianforte and Williams would definitely have had more support. Remember that Montana was the FIRST state to send a woman to the US Congress - even before passage of the 19th Amendment! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeannette_Rankin
Rankin was a Republican, which in the early years of the 20th century was the more progressive party in Montana.
It was her sincere belief in pacifism that ultimately defeated her.

(86,636 posts)There was an uproar about "outsiders" making ads for him. Our R-leaning regional NPR station was all butthurt about it as were the newspapers. They can't go after his record or his personal life so they'll go after the ad makers.
