I'm really pissed at my sister and niece

I go on Facebook and see them smiling broadly (along with my sister's grand daughter) on a beach in FLORIDA.

FUCKING FLORIDA.

They live in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Of all places to travel to at all times, Florida is not the place.

There's beaches in the Tidewater area of Virginia.

And Virginia's governor isn't a Trump boot licking idiot, either.

I've chosen not to do that, but if I did, I'd feel safe on a beach far from others.

I've got a friend who wants me to come down to the SC coast, and they pretty much have their own beach. But I think I'll wait awhile.

People even here on DU are talking about getting haircuts and so on. The beach seems much better to me, but as I said, I'm staying put in my garden for now!

Doesn't mean I might not want to go somewhere else.

I don't, but they obviously did. I have friends in Key West that I'd go visit if I wanted.

Personally, I think it best to stay home, but I think travel is safe if done carefully. Give 'em a break.

He was pissed. Said all the bars opened up and of course a good chunk of your fratty and sratty Brad's, Chad's and Becky's spent two weeks crowding them. They shut down the river because of them so now he cannot kayak. I am just so proud about how responsible both my sons are with this and being young, so probably ok. They feel they have a responsibility not to kill old people. Go figure.

She said they bought trail bikes and state parks take reservations for trails now so they are not overcrowded, you might tell him that.

We have enough of our own idiots fueling the pandemic here. We do not need any more potential incubators or transmitters added to the equation. Frankly, anyone traveling anywhere in the US unless it is absolutely necessary, is part of the problem, not the solution.

Not a great place to be now. It's not the beach that'll be the problem but the hotels and restaurants.

They don’t deserve it. Get angry at them when they contract the virus. For spreading it around the family.

They are have the time if their life.
Their buzz kill shouldn’t be you.

They should be sitting in quarantine for 2 weeks after they come back, but based on behavior you described, it's likely they won't.

Don't be pissed. Ask them to get tested, stay the heck away from them.

A lot of people are doing a lot of dumb things these days. If you're a praying person, consider praying for them. That they are able to stay safe and well, and maybe get a clue without getting sick.

When I saw my nieces, we social distanced on the patio. When I saw my sister and her family, we maintained 6 feet. I love my family. I don't want them sick.

Your family are putting family ahead of the virus. Encourage them to get tested, to come home, to be around people wearing masks.

Tell them that you love them.

Hopefully, continuing to pray will help.

Maybe you could tell them that you are scared for them. And point out the numbers in Texas and Florida.

I am very sorry that they are putting you through this pain. I am sure that you love them very much.

My area is pretty low in COVID cases and has been the whole time. Last I checked there were will under 15 cases cumulative in my county. However, I see plenty of people are deciding to run to Myrtle Beach or Florida for a vacation. I just don't see how it's not going to get brought back with some of them.

I don't see why people can't take one year to not run to the beach. Go camping if you need to or just relax at home for a week. If you HAVE to go to the beach, pick a rental house somewhere on a low populated beach and stay there. You can go out on the beach and stay at the house. You don't need to run to the outlet malls or hit the seafood buffets. Go crazy with it next year, but for now, just don't.
